Welcome to the return of HidinginSan – oh wait. Who are you? Seems like there is some new faces in the crowd. I think this might be a good time to reintroduce myself as well as this little site we call HidinginSanity.

Who Runs This Site

I, Garett “Lethal Illness” Southerton, take pleasure in being your host here at HidinginSanity. I will be the one who writes all the sometimes interesting, sometimes helpful, and always entertaining articles and fuckery here. What qualifies me to be your host? I am the most interesting man alive! Well at least next to Jonathan Goldsmith and Royce da 5’9. Okay but really, I am an audio engineer and web designer who is deeply in love with technology and music and I like to help others on their endeavors in my fields. Whether it’s promotional or a learning experience for my readers I feel like I can benefit others with my “blog”.

What is HidinginSanity

This has been covered so many times in the past so please bare with me if I’m a little vague. HidinginSanity is an outlet for anyone, especially those in need for one, to vent through the world of creative talent and interesting technology thus hiding insanity in sanity. Still following me? Okay, when I was younger music and design kept me out of trouble and relieved the stress and still does. I want to give that back to people like me who need it, simple enough? Don’t worry, this isn’t the typical tech or music site .. I keep it real and I keep it sarcastically funny.

Meet the New HidinginSanity

There is a lot of new changes here so I’m going to break it down into subsections.

Design

Well you may just be blind and/or stupid [or just new here] if you haven’t noticed the new design. This is version 3 of HidinginSanity and I decided that I would bring elements from both the original design and the previous design. The result? In your face simplicity meets a bold graphical design that makes browsing easy on your eyes. The whole site has been rebuilt from scratch from articles to search results.

The New Classic inSanity Design

Flavors

The new design is decked in our classic colors and even the header has a resemblance of the original version of HidinginSanity. In fact, the new design is even dubbed “Classic inSanity”. Pretty neat, huh? – Oh you like it but your kind of in a mood for a change in color scheme. Well I understand because I kind of was too.

Introducing “Flavors”, an interactive user-changeable experience. Uhhhhhh what!? Under the search bar there is two little, tiny squares with a border. Try clicking the gray one. Woah! HidinginSanity looks completely different – WHAT DID YOU DO!?

Switch Between both Flavors

Fear not, HidinginSanity was designed to change colors for a more pleasant experience for you! Meet “Back to the Basics” – the second flavor of HidinginSanity version 3. Back to the Basics is a minimal version of Classic inSanity that may be easier on your eyes or just entertain you to which back and forth from. It gets better though because HidinginSanity remembers which flavor you last had and the next time you visit that flavor will be present. In addition to Classic inSanity and Back to the Basics there will be more flavors added later on to spice things up, pun intended.

Sidebar

If you look at the sidebar there is a significant amount of change from previous versions. I’ve dropped irrelevant social networking links in exchange for an about me, recommendations, and pictures from my Flickr in addition to items that have already been in the sidebar.

Recommendations Look so Neat

Also note that the recommendations are just that. They aren’t ads, they are products and brands I personally recommend to my family, friends, and visitors. You will never see something I did not personally pick and code into the site, never I promise.

Articles & Commenting

The front page of HidinginSanity only shows one articles because it makes it easy to concentrate and read, but if you would like to comment or share the article you need to click the title of the articles to get into the articles “permalink”. When you click the
“permalink” you will see four sections under the post; Share, Related Posts, # Comments, and Leave A Comment. All which I think of are self-explanatory. Alternatively to get straight to the comments at the end of the articles on the front page it will say “Comments”.

Previously to comment on HidinginSanity you had to sign in via Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, AOL, Google, or Open ID. Say goodbye to logging in via other services because now HidinginSanity doesn’t require any log-ins at all. To comment on an articles simple click “Comments” at the end of any article (or the permalink like stated above). This will automatically take you to a section you have to fill-out to comment. The fill-out is as simple as your name, email address, website, and comment. Don’t worry your email is safe here and only used to prove your human and not a spam bot. Plus I would never dare to share an your email address because spam is a nasty thing old hefty farmers eat.

Winter Cleaning

As you know today is the first day of Winter so I thought I would do a little Winter cleaning and clear out some old articles. Rather than start completely fresh I left 13 helpful and interesting articles and took the rest offline to clear up some confusion that could come. Just thought I’d let the newer visitors a heads up so they don’t think that the site has been around since February and only has 13 posts.

Before I sign out I have to say thank you to all the love and support I had via email when HidinginSanity went on hiatus. I am now in good health and there shouldn’t be anything in my way anymore that could sign line me again. Again, thank you – that’s what keeps me going.

Lastly, when HidinginSanity first relaunched from the old, old, site on blogger. I started off with a banger from my boy DJ Shawne and it brought me much luck and success with HidinginSanity. So without further ado, we are going to do it again with a HidinginSanity EXCLUSIVE from DJ Shawne.
